Stolen laptop found in pawn shop
A stolen laptop was found in a pawn shop and returned to its owner.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, a larceny was reported Jan. 28 from 200 Bertessa Lane in Lexington. The victim told deputies that about Aug. 10, she had given an Acer laptop computer and carriny case, all valued at $230, to a person for a repair.
After numerous requests, the person failed to return the items.
Deputies found that the laptop computer and case had been pawned by the suspect’s fiancée on Oct. 16 at Pawn Way, 838 Winston Road in Lexington.
Deputies recovered the computer and case and returned them to the victim.
In connection to the investigation, a criminal summons was issued on Jan. 30 against David Robert King, 26, of 896 Horseshoe Neck Road, Lexington. He was charged with misdemeanor conversion and scheduled to appear in court on March 4.
