Burlington man faces sex offense charges against a child
A Burlington man was arrested Aug. 1 by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force,
Steven Edward Long, 45, of 2511 Elderwood Lane faces numerous charges of sexual activity with a minor in addition to other charges. A search warrant was served at the residence, where several computers and other items were seized along with the two vehicles which detectives allege he used in the commission of the sexual acts.
Randolph County Sheriff’s Office investigators that are assigned to The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force are still actively investigating the case.

Long was charged with three counts of statutory rape / sex offense defendant more than 6 years older than the victim; felonious restraint; first degree sexual exploitation of a minor and crimes against nature.
Long is incarcerated in the Randolph County Jail under a $750,000 secured bond.
