See! Save! Celebrate! Thomasville’s history
The Thomasville Historic Preservation Commission will conduct an event to identify and archive historical photographs of Thomasville from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Piedmont Crossing.
The event will be open to the public to help identify buildings, homes and people in the historical photographs. Visitors are encouraged to bring photos for archiving. The Commission also needs assistance in the identification of photos currently in the archive.
This first of its kind event for the Historic Preservation Commission is being held during National Preservation Month. This year the theme is “See! Save! Celebrate!”
Commission Chair David Yemm hopes that the group will be able to conduct similar events at different locations throughout the year so many residents may have the opportunity to participate.
Many of Yemm’s photos capture the history and daily life of its residents. They may be viewed on Facebook at Thomasville Daily.
