EAT SPAGHETTI
The Thomasville Civitan Club will hold a spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23,  in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church on Sunrise Avenue in Thomasville. The menu also includes garlic bread, salad, drink and dessert. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Tickets are available from any Civitan or at the door. Take-out orders will  be available.

ADOPT A PET
Ruff Love Rescue will hold an indoor dog adoption fair from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Crown Volvo, 3604 W Wend over Ave in Greensboro. For more information go to www.ruffloverescue.com.
Ruff Love Rescue, The Fort Rescue, and Caroline Coon Rescue will hold a pet adoption fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at A Pets World, 115 N Main St in Randleman.

 

WATCH SOME WRESTLING
Communities In Schools of Thomasville and South Eastern Championship Wrestling will offer Chair City Clash 3 Saturday, March 23, at Thomasville High School. All proceeds will benefit CIS.
Advanced tickets for the event are available at Aaron’s locations in Thomasville and Lexington. Tickets may be purchased at the door with prices ranging from $10 to $15.

MOVE YOUR REAR
The third annual “Get Your Rear In Gear” 5K and mile walk will be held  Saturday, March 23, at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. the Roger Fowler Mile Walk is at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K is at 9 a.m. Participants may register as an individual, a team (in honor or memory of someone) or just volunteer to help. Proceeds support Triad programs that educate about colon cancer prevention or support patients and families impacted by the disease. For more information, visit getyourrearingear.com.

MARKET PLACE
The Lexington Woman's Club will host its third annual Spring Market Place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 6, in the Davidson County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall Building at 400 Greensboro St Ext. The event offers numerous vendors from the Triad. Admission and parking are free. Food will be available for purchase.

SCHOLARSHIP
The Davidson County Extension and Community Association, formerly known as the Extension Homemakers’ Association, will award a $500 scholarship to a Davidson County youth or adult attending an accredited college, community college or technical institute.
The scholarship is given in memory of Martha B. Thompson, former home economics agent. Applications are available from the guidance departments at area high schools, at the Family and Consumer Sciences office at the Davidson County Agricultural Center, 301 E.t Center St. in Lexington  or at http://davidson.ces.ncsu.edu. The deadline is March 28.

SPRING DAZE

The 10th annual Spring Daze will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in downtown Thomasville on E. Main Street. Applications are available at Thomasville City Hall or may be downloaded at thomasville-nc.gov. Click on the Beautification Committee and then Spring Daze.

MOVIE NIGHT
The Workshop of Davidson will hold a fundraiser movie night. Friday, April 12, at the Hisotric Edward C. Smith Civic Center, 217 S. Main St. in Lexington. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie, “Madagascar,” begins at 7 p.m. The $5 ticket includes hot dogs, snacks, drinks and a door prize entry.

WALK, RUN, RIDE
Put on your walking or running shoes or pull out the bike for the 11th annual Walk, Run, Ride For Life for Carolina Cancer Services at Finch Park in Lexington on Saturday, April 13. The big event supports programs provided to cancer patients in Davidson County.

CANCER SURVIVORS
The Thomasville Medical Center offers “Feel Good Friday,” every third Friday of the month, for cancer patients and their caregivers. To participate in the program, call Elizabeth Parnell at 474-3231.
