Project MEND could add 20 jobs
Thomasville City Council on April 21 will hold a public hearing regarding economic incentives for a company that is looking to relocate to Thomasville.
According to City Manager Kelly Craver, Project MEND, an unnamed metal working company, will create 20 jobs and invest $2 million.
Council at the April meeting will consider an incentives package that would grant the company 50 percent of property tax paid over a five-year period.
“[The incentives package] is the same way we normally do it,” Craver said. “They have to prove they created the jobs and made the investment.”
Craver said the company plans to reuse an existing building in Thomasville.
