Randolph seizes counterfeit $20 bills

Two people face charges following an investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office about counterfeit $20 bills.

According to a press release, the bills had been passed in the western part of Randolph County to individuals as well as David's Place on Hwy. 64 in Asheboro.

The search warrant was served March 12 at 4861 Cameron Circle in Asheboro by members of the Special Operations Division, State Bureau of Investigations and the Secret Service.

At the address, a computer and printer were seized.

Two were placed under arrest:

• Bobby Dewayne Small, 26, was charged with possession more than five counterfeit instruments.

• Heather Nichole Hollar, 25, was charged with two counts of obtaining property by false pretense, two counts of forgery of instrument and possession of more than five counterfeit instruments.

Both were placed in Randolph County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.

Capt Derrick Hill said the investigation is ongoing.
