Miss Thomasville embarks on 'Unsung Heroes'

Column to focus on what is right in the world
Apr. 15, 2014 @ 03:42 PM

My name is Kacy Lee and I was recently crowned Miss Thomasville 2014. I am honored and excited to represent our area and I am working diligently to prepare for the Miss North Carolina Pageant in June.

Although I am a student at the University of South Carolina, Thomasville and the Archdale-Trinity area will always be my home.

In addition to working with The Miss America Organization to support Children’s Miracle Network, I also have a personal platform — The Foundation for a Better Life – Values.com, a nonprofit organization which promotes positive behavioral values. I encourage you to visit Values.com to learn more about this organization.

Focusing on what is right in our world is the driving force behind my decision to choose this as my platform.

To raise awareness, I need your help. I want to recognize unsung heroes, everyday people who demonstrate positive values and strive to make a difference. I would love to receive nominations from you. Biweekly articles in the Thomasville Times will introduce these individuals in a column, "Unsung Heroes."

I hope you will enjoy reading my column and feel inspired by those being recognized.

To nominate an unsung hero, email Missthomasville2014@gmail.com and include what makes your nominee a hero.

I look forward to representing and serving our community and would love to promote charitable works, schools, or other organizations and events. Contact the Miss Thomasville business manager at  Missthomasvillebookings@gmail.com to schedule an appearance.
